Clearlake fishing report May 30, 2016
SalmonSacRiver.com fishing guide John Pearl reports amazing crappie fishing is taking place on the north end of Clearlake, near the towns of Nice, Ca and Lakeport, Ca. "The fishing has been red hot up here at the north end," reports John. Small minnows which can be purchased locally at the tackle stores that surround the lake are John's desired bait.
Small jigs and blade baits also have been working very well. Thirty to fifty fish days are the norm around the north end, and crappi approaching three pounds are very common. John expects the bite to continue into the middle of June. Crappi like the one pictured in this post are more than entertaining for the youth of the sport fishing industry. Lots of action all day can be expected when booking a trip with John. Nate Hillagos and his daughter Autumn Hillagos from Lakeport, Ca were out on a guided trip with John on May 27, 2016. They took a minute away from the action to snap this amazing photo. Call 707-536-3984 to book a trip directly with John.
